Atheism Vs Intellect
56
I have had many conversations with people whom claim they are atheists and also claim to be intellectual. Atheism by definition is someone who doesn’t believe in the existence of God entirely. Furthermore, one whom supports these beliefs, also believe that there is proof of that. Now with this specific case, I am indeed a devout believer in God through Christ but this has nothing to do with my beliefs but more the beliefs of others or lack there of.
If you really take a look at what people claim to be fact according to
evidence you will find that you will find that simple intellect which
claims to be the source of many atheists belief system causes a
conflict in their own set of beliefs. In a simple comparison of the
two, atheism does not stand a chance and is completely diminished and
destroyed by the simple yet seemingly complex light of human intellect.
To prove this point, ask yourself a few simple questions. Do you
believe that the brand new Dallas Cowboys Stadium just appeared
coincidentally? Would you believe it if I told you that somehow
thousands of years ago this ‘big bang’ happened and the materials that
make this monumental structure just became and put themselves together
screws and all? You would probably look at me like I was an
intergalactic moron and go on about your day. You would also find that
the architect Jerry Jones would be pretty upset about it, and according
to my claim, undeserving of an award given to him by Texas A&M
College of Architecture. The same thing can be said about us. You see
atheists normally believe in some form of coincidental creation, but if
you look around and NOTHING ever just shows up, someone somewhere had
to create it. Then another point is that many atheists claim to believe
in Darwinism or the theory of evolution, where one professor of the
subject was quoted saying, “The evolution theory will go down as one of
the biggest jokes in history books to come.” This is the theory that
man evolved from primates and essentially man is a family member or
cousin to the primate. My question is, if a monkey is your cousin would
you invite him to your family reunion? Or better yet, would you trust
that cousin monkey of yours to so any of your daily chores such as
sending emails, taking out trash, walking your dog, or even making your
bed? I highly doubt it, and you would probably be upset and accuse me
of insulting your INTELLIGENCE if I did so, which in a sense I would
be.
My last point to be made is indeed the most controversial.
When posed a question about the world around us or we people in
general, one begins to respond with the phrase “I believe”. Although to
someone of intellect, I would think your beliefs would be based on
facts, when they are just a set of proposed logic, theories, and sample
ideas which would not hold up against intense research. If you don’t
believe me do the research for yourself. And if you go from this
believing the same way, at some point you are going to either get to a
place and ask why this doesn’t add up, or when posed a question you
just don’t know. Am I claiming to know everything, heavens no. But the
fact remains that I have always been a seeker of truth, and I refuse to
believe something based on a lie. In closing, one may feel as though I
am pushing Christianity behind the scenes and ultimately I am. But the
MAIN point is not to diminish your intelligence but add to it.

You know you make a great point here, it makes so much more sense that this almighty being which we have no contact with in all physical senses, just came and clicked his fingers and everything happened. How stupid of us to think otherwise.
I mean, what does all that "scientific evidence" crap have to do with anything? Who needs fact when you have God to fill in all the spaces? A being who can potentially explain everything simply because he does not exist. No proof needed, "He just did it".
I'll pass on the "intelligence" being offered, our monkey cousins are perhaps a little more enlightening.
Wow, I never realised how stupid 'intelligence' is... at least under your definition.
With all due respect, dear theist, most people who call themselves atheists maintain that the typical idea of god is absurd: namely, that he is all good; all knowing; compassionate; sentient.
This does not address the existence, or lack thereof, of a Creator. The idea that a Creator is necessary to explain the existence of things seems to some people to be a little childish. Is the the Creator far more complex than the things He created? If complex things require a sentient Creator, then does not your God also require one?
It makes more sense to assume that matter, soul-stuff, whatever that is, and anything else that exists has always existed in some form. The very notion of something becoming nothing or nothing becoming something is not very scientific.
Intelligent scientific minds must first admit that they do not know. It is required to prompt one to investigate further. I am certain that Darwin's Theory of Evolution is full of inaccuracies, as are almost all complex scientific and philosophical systems. That fact does not lend credence to the Christian Fairy Tale of Genesis, or to the spirit of the tale if you do not believe in a literal translation.
Mankind has existed for a long time and it requires extreme faith that transcends logical thinking for one to say that he knows how mankind became what he is. The data needed to actually answer the question is not available. People need not feel abashed or benighted when they honestly do not know. Admitting you do not have enough information where the data is absent symbolizes wisdom, not foolishness.
The old adage says it best: "It is better to be silent and thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

Either you don't know what atheism is or you are intentionally misrepresenting it. And if you don't know what atheism is, then you also don't know what theism is.
Theism is the belief that there is a god. And this is the initial proposed position in that the statement "god exists" is believed to be true by theists.
Atheism is a CONCLUSION in RESPONSE to theism, in that the statement "god exists" is believed to be false. Atheism is the belief that there is no god.
Why are both scenarios contigent on belief? Because none of the sides can prove either a generic god exists or does not. Atheists have no proof just like theists have no proof. If you have proof, then you have a truth, not a belief.
Any proposition can either be "proven" to be true or false, or it can be "believed" to be true or false - there is no other option.
